Hi, I’m Lucy, and I work for Clean Advantage as an Area Manager. I’ve been with the company for 13 years.

I started at Clean Advantage after working for another cleaning company. My supervisor at the time came over to Clean Advantage, and she encouraged me to follow. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. Over time, the company has grown, and I’ve grown with it.

When I start my mornings, I head straight to the properties I manage to make sure everything is in order: that the employees are in uniform, the customers are happy, and the work reflects the Clean Advantage name. I take pride in every detail because this company feels like my own.
If a property manager calls, I’m there, no matter what day it is. Once, a client called me on a Saturday about an elevator accident that wasn’t part of our contract. I went right over to handle it. That was ten years ago, and he still thanks me for doing that today. That’s how we work here. If something needs to be done, we just do it.

What I love most about Clean Advantage is the people. My boss is an exceptional man. And Tina is an excellent leader. Whenever I call her, she’s there for me. The other Area Managers and I help each other all the time. We’re a team. When I need them, they show up; when they need me, I’m there. That’s what family looks like at work.
I also love seeing my coworkers succeed. When one of my team members received a raise because the client appreciated their hard work, I felt so proud. That’s the kind of recognition that makes you feel valued.
The Human Side of Commercial Cleaning

When my sister, who also worked at Clean Advantage, became sick with cancer, my boss paid for her health insurance for an entire year after she had to stop working. He told me, “Don’t worry about it. I’m 61 now, and one day I’ll retire. But until then, I’ll keep working hard to make Clean Advantage the number one cleaning company in the DMV area. I’m grateful every day for the chance to be part of this family. When people say they hate their boss, I can honestly say, I don’t have that problem! I’m lucky.
After 13 years, I still love what I do. I always tell people that I’m not the owner, but I call it my company because that’s how much it means to me. When I go to work, I give 100 percent. I want Clean Advantage to be number one in the cleaning business.
